A NEW HIVE is a continuing effort by Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons to help save the indispensable honeybee. The video above documents the first installment of A NEW HIVE in the form of an art installation that took place in the Meatpacking District of New York City. Every work in this collection is the result of thorough collaboration with New York beekeepers geared to reflect one alarming vision — a future without pollinators.

 

From the OCCULTER website.  I respect so much this effort and the label!  Also have a secret connection with the bee.  Although I was swarmed by a hive of this magical insect, which resulted in over 100 stingers embedded in my 6 year old flesh, it felt like a beautiful sacrifice, a cleansing….and I love them.
